STAGE KHAS (SAHNE KHAS), an alternative stage that opened in 2012 under the art direction of the Theater Department, primarily aims to offer a solution to the space shortage in the performing arts field in Istanbul.

STAGE KHAS is an innovative screening venue where university students’ projects will be staged. On the other hand, as a platform opened within the university, it aims to play an essential role in meeting the researcher and experimental works produced in our country and abroad in performing arts with the audience.

STAGE KHAS functions as a platform that can host selected workshops, roundtable presentations, and all kinds of works in performing arts, apart from screenings.

Our stage is a viewing and research space, where works selected by the art management of Kadir Has University Art and Design Faculty Theater Department and in line with the decisions of an advisory board invited from outside the university are staged, which can all be changed modularly in line with the needs of the screening.

STAGE KHAS is designed as a black box, and its technical features are as follows:

  • The STAGE does not have a fixed seating arrangement. Thanks to the modular layout, groups can exhibit their shows with the seating plan they want. Seating with chairs is for a maximum of 130 people.
  • The total area of the place has a width of 14.5 meters, a length of 10 meters, and a ceiling height of 4.9 meters. The floor is wooden, smooth, and black.
  • The STAGE has 38 pieces of light equipment (16 pieces of 650W PC / 16 pieces of 800W Profiles / 6 pieces of LED-PAR).
  • It can be heard from 4 speakers with its 24-channel mixer as a sound system.
